When you’re trying to stage your home to sell, one of the most important things you can do is clear out the clutter and let the property – not necessarily its contents – really shine. That means getting rid of any unnecessary furniture, distracting décor and anything else that creates an air of untidiness. These before-and-after shots demonstrate how simply removing a few things can transform a room.

Once the cluttered side table, chair and large picture were removed, the room was instantly transformed (note that the largest items in the room, the couches and the cabinets, were not moved at all!). And by coordinating the colors on the new (and much smaller) picture on the wall and the couch pillows, the room is instantly elongated and a focal point is created.

Sometimes, the best solution really is the simplest one!
