Do you have a “junk room” in your home? Maybe you’ve always had one, or maybe you just created one as a place to store things while you’re trying to sell your home. If this is the case, it’s time to buckle down and find a way to make it a functional space.

Junk areas could be anywhere — it could be a spare bedroom, a nook under the stairs, or even a particular corner. These are all very unattractive to potential home buyers, so get creative and give the space a purpose! Turn that spare bedroom into a home office or even a gym, if you have any fitness equipment lying around. Place a small chair, pillows and throws to create a reading nook in that unused corner by the window. Anything goes — just make sure there is a clear, intended purpose for all of the spaces in your home.

Voila! With a little creativity and repurposing, your home is instantly more attractive to buyers.
